Dr. Keith Miller, former president of Virginia State University, has over 25 years of experience in prestigious positions at major universities. During his time at Virginia State University, he oversaw university functions, capital building projects, fundraising efforts, as well as academic and extracurricular activities. One program that enjoyed major success during Dr. Keith Miller’s time at Virginia State University is VSU Cares, an annual mobile health and dental expo.

VSU Cares is an event that works to promote and demonstrate good health practices, while offering medical screenings and dental services. Representatives from several local and national agencies attend the event in order to promote career opportunities within the healthcare industry.

The 2nd VSU Cares took place in April a few years ago at the Daniel Gymnasium on the VSU campus. Numerous volunteers were on hand from the Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy to offer services to the community. In addition, dental screenings were available for children aged 1-12 years. Community members of all ages were in attendance.
