The former president of Virginia State University, Dr. Keith Miller uses his education leadership experience as an associate consultant with the AASCU-Penson Center for Professional Development. Alongside his professional activities, Dr. Keith Miller supports several nonprofit organizations and serves as an executive board member of the Heart of Virginia Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Each year, Boy Scouts across the United States take part in a national Scout jamboree, a multiday camping event first held in 1937. Today, the jamboree lasts more than a week and takes place at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia.
Staff and attendee registration is currently open for the 2017 national Scout jamboree, which will be held July 19-28. In addition to programs focused on scouting, the jamboree will feature zip line challenge courses and other activities such as mountain biking, skateboarding, and rock climbing.
